Beginning Knitting Wednesdays at noon, Thursdays at noon, Saturdays at noon, and Tuesdays at 7:00pm $30 (needles and yarn aprox. $14, depending on what you choose) Ready for the wonderful world of knitting? Learn the basics (cast on, knit, bind off) and be ready to make your first knit scarf! Materials needed: worsted weight yarn and appropriate needles. Bring your own, or get them here. You can also use this class time to improve your skills with a more advance subject of you choice. Kids Summer Knitting Classes Ages 6 & up All levels welcome $25 per week (+ $10 for materials) Classes meet Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 11:00am to 12 noon Session 1: August 12, 13, 15 Session 2: August 19, 20, 22 Knitting Intensive Course Wednesday through Friday evenings at 6:00 to 7/7:30, Saturdays 12:30 to 1:30/2. Since there is so much to cover we might not be able to cover everything in one hour, but we'll try, and if there's only one of the several techniques listed for each day that you want to learn let me know and we'll cover that first. It's not necessary that you take all of the classes. $10 each class. 1.Circular knitting, including double pointed, magic loop and how to fix incorrect joins. August 13 2. Increasing and decreasing. August 14 3. Lace (class 2 is a prereq, private lesson is available) and reading patterns. August 15 4. Short Rows, darts. August 16 5. Pick up and knit, button holes, general questions. August 20 6. Entrelac. August 21 7. Cables and icords and bobbles. August 22 8. Many ways of casting on and off, continental vs english knitting. Date: tba 9. Color knitting #1. intarsia, other forms of color knitting. Date: tba 10. Color knitting #2 fair isle, other color knitting. Date tba 11. Kitchener stitch/grafting, three needle bind off. Date: TBA Knit socks! It's addictive and ohh so calming Saturdays at 2:00, $30 Learn to knit socks on double pointed needles. All you need to know is how to knit, purl, and use double pointed needles Learn to Knit Lace Tuesday nights at 6 $30 each session Intimidated by lace? All you need to know is how to knit and purl and Allison will show you the basics of knitting lace. Or, if you're a more experienced knitter who is intimidated by a pattern just bring it in and Allison will show you what to do. Spin your own designer yarn Coming soon in August $30 Learn to spin your own yarn with your own drop spindle. Impress your friends! We stock spindle and fiber kits. Yarn: Start to Finish You'll get raw wool, and instructions how to process it into usable wool. A spinning lesson, to make that wool you make into yarn. Then a lesson in putting color in your yarn. $80 Call or email for details. coming back soon. Knitted Hats: Sundays 3 pm, $30 Ready to move on from scarves, but daunted by the idea of making a hat? Don't worry, we're here to help and we'll walk you through each step. Skills taught include knitting on circular and double-pointed needles, decreasing and i-cord. The class is taught in 2 sessions, each 1.5 hours. Materials needed: worsted weight yarn and size 7 or 8 double pointed and circular needles. Beginning Crochet: Tuesdays at noon, Fridays at noon, Saturdays at 5:00 and Tuesdays at 7:00pm $30 (hook and yarn aprox. $14, give or take) In this class you'll be introduced to the versitile craft of crochet. No need to be fret about dropped stitches or be confused by increasing and decreasing, with crochet it's easy! In this class we'll start off with the chain stitch, slip-stitch, and single crochet. Materials needed: worsted weight yarn and appropriate hook. Get them here, or bring your own. Or schedule a class at this hour to improve your crochet skills. Future classes: Freeform Snowflakes Learn to create your own crochet snowflake with no pattern! We will schedule classes soon, or call for your own class.	Simple Sweater Class Fridays at 6:00. $35 We will help you design a simple sweater. Some are as easy to make as a scarf. Really!! Class 2 - 4: Continue with project, correct any mistakes, and learning necessary techniques, including blocking and assembling, and embellishments if desired. Class 1: We'll start you off with the pattern, go over the techinques, make a guage swatch, and take measurements. Stitch N Bitch, Happy Hooker Need help with any of the patterns from this book, come in and we'll help you do it. oooh Paper Snowflake class Sundays by appointment, free Lily has decided to share her knowledge with the world. No homework, advanced payment, or previous knowledge of the paper arts is required for this class. Crochet 2: Take your crochet to the next level. Learn how to make a half double, double, and triple crochet stitch. Materials needed: worsted weight yarn and appropriate hook. Knitting 2 The Purl Stitch: There's so much more to knitting than the garter stitch. If you're ready to take your knitting to the next level, then it's time to learn how to purl! By making a sampler you will take home the skills to knit ribbing, stockinette, seed stitch, and more. Materials needed: worsted weight yarn and appropriate needles. Correcting Common Knitting Mistakes We've all experienced dropped stitches and knitting mistakes. Learn to fix mistakes without ripping the whole thing out. Homework is required before class. Homework: Please bring a swatch knitted on size 11 needles or larger. 4 rows of garter (all knit) then 5 rows of stockinette (knit 1 row, purl one row), please do not bind off.
