News We are closed Ever wanted to learn to sew? You can still take our sewing classes Have machines will travel. Call or email Maggie at 323 254 4652 or jfureno@worldnet.att.net. She will go to your home or you can come to hers. Also, all flavors of homemade Jams (Blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, peach, blackberry, red and white wine) are still and will continue to be available. Call or email Maggie at 323 254 4652 or jfureno@worldnet.att.net. We aren't entirely gone, we will still have knitting groups meeting in the community, and there are plans to have yarns available here and there. Check this site, or subscribe to the newsletter. We've have a book club (no, not about knitting) Our next book is Obama's Dreams from My Father Read it and discuss it with us. Look at our workshops page for details Have you always wanted to make a sweater and thought it was too difficult? Ask David for some very easy ways to make a sweater. Look at our workshop page for more details on new classes. If you aren't a knitter or crocheter yet, we have scheduled times for beginners lessons. Or, schedule a good time for yourself. If you do knit or crochet, but you need a bit of help, look at our "course" class. You might like the idea. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ We had this empty space here, so I thought I'd share my favorite poem, until we need the space again... David * Halfway down the stairs Is a stair Where I sit. There isn't any Other stair Quite like It. I'm not at the bottom, I'm not at the top; So this is the stair Where I always Stop. Halfway up the stairs Isn't up, And isn't down. It isn't in the nursery, It isn't in the town. And all sorts of funny thoughts Run round my head: "It isn't really Anywhere! It's somewhere else Instead!" a.a. Milne |

Here is a note from one of our Yarn Store Family Seeking Knitted Donations
Every spring, Francois and I go
back to my home country of Costa Rica to visit with family and friends.
One of our usual stops is
a rehab and training facility for newly-blinded individuals.
We usually donate a large box of
much-needed supplies, such as braillers, canes, cooking utensils and
whatever else we can that will be of use .
For those who would like to
help, I am asking for knitted and crocheted items like dish towels,
place mats, oven mitts; practical things which can be used in the
cooking and independent living skills classes.
Again, this is totally
voluntary, and anything you would like to donate is greatly
appreciated.
We fly down in April, so there's
plenty of time. Please send your beautiful creations to me at the
following address:
